When agricultural non-woven fabrics with unsatisfactory performance requirements are used in agricultural production, they not only fail to provide good insulation and moisture retention, but also affect the normal growth of crops. Therefore, when choosing agricultural non-woven fabrics, it is important to ensure that they meet the performance requirements.
Insulation: Because non-woven fabrics have a lower transmittance to longwave light than plastic films, and the heat dissipation in the nighttime radiation area mainly relies on longwave radiation, when used as a second or third curtain, it can increase the temperature of greenhouses, greenhouses, and soil, resulting in increased production and income. The surface temperature increases by an average of nearly 2 ℃ on sunny days and around 1 ℃ on cloudy days, especially at low temperatures at night, which significantly reduces ground thermal radiation and provides better insulation, reaching 2.6 ℃. However, the insulation effect on cloudy days is only half that of sunny nights.
Moisturizing: Non woven fabrics have large and numerous pores, are soft, and the fiber gaps can absorb water, which can reduce the relative humidity of the air by 5% to 10%, prevent condensation, and reduce the occurrence of diseases. According to relevant tests, the soil moisture content measured after covering was found to have the best moisturizing properties with 25 grams of short fiber non-woven fabric per square meter and 40 grams of spunbond non-woven fabric per square meter, respectively, increasing by 51.1% and 31% compared to uncovered soil.
Translucency: It has a certain degree of transparency. The thinner the non-woven fabric, the better its transparency, while the thicker it, the worse its transparency. The best transmittance is achieved at 20 grams and 30 grams per square meter, reaching 87% and 79% respectively, which is similar to the transmittance of glass and polyethylene agricultural films. Even if it is 40g per square meter or 25g per square meter (short fiber hot rolled non-woven fabric), the transmittance can reach 72% and 73% respectively, which can meet the light requirements of covering crops.
Breathable: Non woven fabric is made by stacking long filaments into a mesh, with high porosity and breathability. The size of air permeability is related to the gap size of non-woven fabric, the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the covering layer, wind speed, etc. Generally, the air permeability of short fibers is several to 10 times higher than that of long fibers; The air permeability of a 20 gram per square meter long fiber non-woven fabric in a calm state is 5.5-7.5 cubic meters per square meter per hour.
Shading and cooling: Covering with colored non-woven fabric can provide shading and cooling effects. Different colored non-woven fabrics have different shading and cooling effects. Black non-woven fabric has a better shading effect than yellow, and yellow is better than blue.
Anti aging: agricultural non-woven fabrics are generally subject to anti-aging treatment, and the thicker the cloth, the lower the strength loss rate.
