Needle punched nonwoven fabric: Introduction to the process flow of needle punched non woven fabric

Needle punched non-woven fabric

Needle punched non-woven fabric is a type of dry process non-woven fabric. Loosening, combing, and laying short fibers into a fiber mesh, then reinforcing the fiber mesh into a cloth with a needle. The needle has a hook, and the fiber mesh is repeatedly punctured, strengthening the hook to form a needle punched non-woven fabric. Non woven fabrics have no warp or weft, and the fibers inside the fabric are messy, with little difference in warp and weft performance. Typical products: synthetic leather substrates, needle punched geotextiles, etc.

Needled non-woven fabrics are widely used in automotive interiors, environmentally friendly materials, civilian materials, clothing, and bedding. Special finishing such as gluing, powder spraying, singeing, calendering, film coating, flame retardant, waterproof, oil proof, cutting, and laminating can also be carried out according to customer needs.

Low weight needle punched non-woven fabrics are mainly used in the automotive interior field, such as engine compartments, luggage compartments, coat racks, sunroof sunshades, bottom protective devices, seat linings, etc., It is also used in fields such as clothing fabrics, bedding and mattresses, sanitary materials, and greenery.

The process flow of needle punched non-woven fabric

1、 Weighing and feeding

This process is the first process of needle punched non-woven fabric. According to the prescribed fiber ratios, such as black A 3D-40%, black B 6D-40%, and white A 3D 20%, the materials are weighed and recorded according to the ratios to ensure the stability of product quality.

If the feeding ratio is incorrect, there may be differences in the style of the produced product compared to the standard sample, or there may be periodic color differences, resulting in batch defects.
For products with high requirements for mixing multiple raw materials and color difference, try to disperse them evenly when manually feeding, and if possible, use two mixing equipment to ensure that the cotton is mixed as evenly as possible.

2、 Loosening, blending, combing, spinning, and laying nets

These actions are the decomposition process of several equipment works when fibers are turned into non-woven fabrics, all of which are completed automatically by the equipment.
The stability of product quality largely depends on the stability of equipment. At the same time, the familiarity, sense of responsibility, and experience of production and management personnel with equipment and products can greatly detect abnormalities in a timely manner and handle them promptly.

3、 Acupuncture

Usage: Using needle punching equipment, with a minimum weight of 80g, mainly used in car trunk, sunroof sunshade panels, non-woven fabrics for engine rooms, car floor protectors, coat racks, seats, main carpets, and other parts.

Key points: Adjust the needling conditions and determine the number of needling machines to be used according to the product style and requirements; Regularly confirm the degree of needle wear; Set the needle changing frequency; Use specialized needle plates if necessary.

4、 Inspection+rolling

After the needle punching of non-woven fabric is completed, the non-woven fabric is considered as preliminarily processed.

Before the non-woven fabric is rolled, it undergoes automatic metal detection (as shown in the imported needle detector on the left) – during the needle detection process, if the non-woven fabric is detected to have more than 1mm of metal or broken needles, the equipment will alarm and automatically stop; Effectively prevent metal or broken needles from flowing into the next process.

Characteristics and application areas

1. Needle punched non-woven fabric has excellent mechanical properties and dimensional stability, and can withstand multiple washes and high-temperature disinfection treatments.

2. Needled non-woven fabric has good wear resistance, soft hand feel, and good breathability, making it suitable for use as high-end bedding, clothing liners, straps, shoe upper materials, etc.

3. Needled non-woven fabric has certain filtering performance and can be used as a screening layer for air filtration materials and water filtration materials.

4. Needle punched non-woven fabric can be used in various industrial conveyor belts, carpets, automotive interiors, etc.

Conclusion

In summary, the production process of needle punched non woven fabric includes links such as raw material selection, pretreatment, mixing, feeding, needle punching, heat setting, coiling, rewinding, etc. Due to its various advantages in performance and application, its application in various fields is becoming increasingly widespread.
