Colombia’s anti-dumping investigation on polypropylene non-woven fabrics from China

On March 7, 2024, the Colombian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism announced the launch of an anti-dumping investigation against polypropylene non-woven fabrics originating in China and weighing between 8 grams per square meter and 70 grams per square meter. The initiation of this investigation responded to the application of local enterprise PGI COLOMBIA LTDA, involving product tax numbers 5603.11.00.00 and 5603.12.90.00. This measure officially takes effect from the day after the announcement was published in the official daily newspaper, posing great challenges and pressure to Chinese exporters.

Export avoidance of polypropylene non-woven fabric through transshipment trade

Faced with such anti-dumping investigations, Jingwei Jiyun, with its profound industry experience and professional team, proposes to effectively avoid anti-dumping duties through third-party transit trade. This strategy can not only help Chinese companies maintain their competitiveness in the international market, but also ensure the smooth export of products to the Colombian market.

The process of transshipment trade includes

Firstly, export the goods from China through normal customs declaration to a third country, such as Malaysia;

Secondly, after the goods arrive in a third country, customs clearance, container replacement, and relevant documents such as certificate of origin should be processed locally;
Finally, the goods are re exported to Colombia through a third country, and customs clearance is carried out using the third country’s certificate of origin and other documents, thereby effectively avoiding anti-dumping duties.

Third country transit trade

The transshipment trade plan not only allows enterprises to avoid high anti-dumping duties, but also allows them to enjoy more flexible international trade processes, reduce transaction costs, and maintain product market competitiveness. In addition, the transit service of Jingwei Jiyun also includes full visual tracking, exclusive customer service support, and security guarantees to ensure the safety of goods and funds.

Transit trade

The challenges brought by Colombia’s anti-dumping investigation on polypropylene non-woven fabrics from China have prompted Chinese exporters to seek more efficient and safe export solutions. Jingwei Jiyun provides a clear avoidance path for enterprises with its professional transit trade services. By utilizing third country transshipment trade, not only can we effectively respond to anti-dumping investigations, but we can also help enterprises reduce potential trade barriers and lay a solid foundation for the international market competition of Chinese products. Faced with the complex challenges of globalized trade, Jingwei Jiyun will continue to support enterprises in expanding international markets and achieving greater commercial success.
