Observing the overall trend and seeking a path forward

The overall operation of the textile machinery industry in the first three quarters was stable, with major economic indicators such as production, exports, efficiency, and investment continuing to grow in the first half of the year. However, the growth rate has declined and exports have rebounded, “said Liu Song, Vice President of the China Textile Machinery Association, analyzing the industry’s operation. In the segmented industries, the sales of knitting machinery and weaving machinery are in a growing trend, while the sales of printing and dyeing machinery have turned from decline to increase, spinning machinery has fallen slightly, and the sales of chemical fiber machinery products are clearly differentiated. The sales of non-woven fabric machinery are gradually recovering and maintaining stability.

According to customs statistics, the cumulative total import and export volume of textile machinery in China from January to October 2023 was 5.697 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 8.58%. Among them, the import of textile machinery was 1.95 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 22.37%; Exports amounted to 3.746 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 0.74%.

Since the beginning of this year, the global demand for textile machinery equipment has remained weak and has not shown an overall improvement. The export of textile machinery from major textile producing countries has shown a downward trend. As the largest textile machinery export country, China’s textile machinery export performance is the most stable. India, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Türkiye are the top five countries in China’s export, of which Vietnam, Bangladesh and Pakistan are showing positive growth, while exports to Türkiye are showing a significant decline. From the perspective of export categories, the decline in spinning and chemical fiber machinery is more significant, while the export of knitting machinery and printing and dyeing finishing machinery has achieved significant growth.

According to the survey of key enterprises by the China Textile Machinery Association, 19.2% of enterprises believe that the industry situation in the fourth quarter of 2024 is optimistic, 50.7% of enterprises believe that the situation is average, and 29.5% of enterprises believe that it is not optimistic.

When it comes to industry expectations, Liu Song stated that the restructuring of the global textile and clothing industry chain will continue, domestic market demand will continue to face pressure, and challenges such as increasing uncertainty in the trade environment still need to be resolved. From the observation of historical data, although the growth of major operating indicators in China’s textile industry may slow down in 2025, the basic foundation for high-quality development of the textile industry is still solid, and the space for industry development is still vast. In terms of the domestic market, the intelligent transformation of China’s textile industry has led to a continuous increase in demand for high-performance fibers, high-end industrial textiles, and other products. Environmental protection, energy conservation, and resource recycling will bring about new equipment demand growth. In terms of overseas markets, after two years of decline, the global textile machinery trade volume shows signs of stabilization in the fourth quarter of this year, and China’s textile machinery product exports are expected to further increase by 2025.

Zhao Xiaogang, Vice President of the China Textile Machinery Association, summarized the overall situation of the 2024 International Textile Machinery Exhibition at the meeting and introduced the preparation and organization of overseas exhibitions in 2025 and the 2026 International Textile Machinery Exhibition.

Dongguan Liansheng Non woven Technology Co., Ltd. was established in May 2020. It is a large-scale non-woven fabric production enterprise integrating research and development, production, and sales.
