Non woven fabrics are effectively used to improve crop productivity, and their protective properties mean reducing the demand for pesticides and keeping physical labor to a minimum.
Using agricultural non-woven fabrics to cover crops on land has increased crop yield and quality. Placing very light and soft agricultural non-woven fabric on the seedbed creates a microclimate that can control heat and humidity, protecting plants from adverse weather conditions and pests, and accelerating their growth rate.
Application of agricultural non-woven fabric
Used as a “second layer” insulation material at the bottom of straw mats: Many shantytowns not only cover the greenhouse surface with straw mats, but also add a layer of non-woven fabric at the bottom of the straw mats. According to vegetable farmers, adding “second layer” insulation materials (non-woven fabric) can significantly improve the insulation performance of the greenhouse, which is 2 ℃ -3 ℃ higher than simply covering with straw, thus promoting vegetable growth.
In addition, applying non-woven fabric on the greenhouse where the rolling shutter machine is used can also protect the straw and extend its service life.
Advantages of agricultural non-woven fabric
The application of non-woven fabric in greenhouses has the following advantages:
Insulation:
The transmittance of non-woven fabric for long wave light is lower than that of plastic film. Because the heat dissipation in the nighttime radiation zone mainly relies on long wave radiation, the insulation effect of covering is outstanding.
Breathable and moisture regulating:
Non woven fabric is made up of long filaments that are stacked on top of each other to form a mesh, with a high porosity. It is breathable, permeable, and can automatically adjust humidity.
Light blocking:
Covered with colored non-woven fabric, it has a light shielding effect. The shading effect of non-woven fabrics of different colors varies. Black is better than yellow in terms of shading effect, and yellow is better than blue.
Anti aging:
Agricultural non-woven fabric has undergone anti-aging treatment. The thicker the fabric, the lower the strength loss rate.
Agricultural non-woven fabrics have been widely used in developed countries such as Japan, the United States, the Netherlands, and Canada. Our country has not introduced non-woven fabric technology for a long time. Currently, there are few types and specifications of products, high prices, and a certain gap in quality compared to similar foreign products. At the same time, research and promotion of coverage technology are not enough, so the promotion area is not large so far.
In addition, with the improvement of nonwoven production technology and further improvement of covering technology, anti-aging nonwoven fabrics will be widely used in the development of vegetable off-season cultivation.
