The function and significance of grape bagging

Grape bagging is also an important part of grape production management, playing a crucial role in improving the quality and quality of grapes.

The function of grape bagging

Grape fruit bagging is an important technical measure, and its functions and significance can be summarized into 8 aspects:

1. Improve the rate of excellent fruits and increase economic benefits

Only good fruits are easy to sell. Especially in recent years, due to overcapacity, supply side reform aims to produce high-quality fruits and eliminate secondary fruits (outdated production capacity). Only high-quality fruits have market competitiveness.

Good fruit and good price. The quality of grapes produced after bagging is significantly improved, which can significantly increase economic benefits.

2. Grape bagging can improve the smoothness of the fruit surface and enhance its marketability

After bagging, on the one hand, the fruit surface is less affected by the environment, making it less prone to fruit rust, pesticide spots, and pest symptoms.
On the other hand, the humidity inside the bag is high, the fruit grains are watery, the appearance is beautiful, and the marketability of the fruit is improved.

3. Grape bagging can prevent and reduce fruit infectious diseases

The occurrence of grape infectious diseases requires pathogenic bacteria and environmental conditions with disease occurrence.

Grape infectious diseases are contagious.

Pre bagging dipping and whole garden spraying of pesticides can effectively kill and prevent pathogenic bacteria.

Bagging can physically isolate the external environment, preventing or reducing the invasion of pathogens.

4. Prevent the invasion and damage of fruit pests

Relatively speaking, bagging can physically isolate from the external environment, preventing or reducing the invasion of pests.

It can ensure yield and reduce damage to fruit surface caused by pests.

5. Grape bagging can reduce pesticide usage and decrease pesticide residues

Bagging can reduce the occurrence of pests and diseases, thereby reducing the amount and frequency of pesticide use, lowering labor costs, and lowering medication costs;

At the same time, reducing direct contact between pesticides and fruits, minimizing pesticide pollution on fruits and fruit surfaces, and improving marketability;

It can reduce pesticide residues in fruits and improve the food safety of grapes.

6. Prevent fruit sunburn

Effectively prevent sunburn. Some people say that bagging grapes too early can easily cause fruit sunburn, but in fact, there are conditions for early bagging to cause sunburn. The main cause of sunburn is high temperature and direct exposure to strong light. If the frame shape is reasonable, the branches and leaves are well trimmed, ventilated, and there is no direct light, it can effectively prevent sunburn. Bagging can be done 20-40 days after flowering.

Relatively speaking, early bagging has many advantages. Bagging may also reduce direct sunlight to a certain extent, effectively reducing the possibility of sunburn, making the color of the fruit surface bright, uniform, and improving the appearance of the product.

How to wear non-woven bags

At present, it is the grape bagging period. The key points of grape bagging technology are summarized as follows.

1.According to different grape varieties, different colored bags should be selected. We usually choose high-quality, transparent, breathable, and easy to color white bags for colored varieties (such as Red Earth grapes), which have a more ideal effect. For green varieties like Sunshine Rose, it is better to choose blue, green, or three color bags.

2. The bagging process is usually carried out during the secondary swelling period of the fruit, but it depends on the local temperature. In high temperature conditions, bagging can be delayed, and another option is to choose bagging in the afternoon.

3. Before bagging, a final thinning treatment is required to remove some stiff fruits, diseased fruits, sun burnt fruits, air burnt fruits, small fruits, and some tightly attached fruits.

4. Another important task before bagging is to conduct a comprehensive insecticidal and bactericidal treatment on the fruit ears, with a focus on preventing gray mold, downy mildew, anthracnose, and white rot. Chemicals such as benzofenapyr, pyrimethanil, enoxymorpholine, and quinolone can be used for soaking or spraying the ears.

5. Pay special attention that after spraying the medicine, be sure to wait for the fruit surface to dry before bagging to avoid leaving spots that may affect the fruit surface.

6. When bagging, be careful not to touch the fruit surface with your hands as much as possible. Instead, slowly open the fruit bag and put it on. Tighten the upper part of the bag and open the ventilation opening at the bottom of the bag.

Dongguan Liansheng Non woven Technology Co., Ltd. was established in May 2020. It is a large-scale non-woven fabric production enterprise integrating research and development, production, and sales.
