The Middle Class Association and the European Nonwoven Fabric Association met in Brussels and signed a cooperation agreement

In the context of a globalized economy, in order to promote international cooperation and exchange in the non-woven fabric industry, a delegation from the China Industrial Textile Industry Association (referred to as the China Industrial Textile Association) visited the European Nonwoven Fabric Association (EDAA) located in Brussels on April 18th. This visit aims to deepen mutual understanding and explore future cooperation.
Li Lingshen, Vice President of the China Textile Industry Federation, Li Guimei, President of the Middle Class Association, and Ji Jianbing, Vice President, had a discussion with Murat Dogru, General Manager of EDANA, Jacques Prigneaux, Director of Market Analysis and Economic Affairs, Marines Lagemaat, Director of Science and Technology Affairs, and Marta Roche, Manager of Sustainable Development and Technology Affairs. Before the symposium, Murat Dogru led a delegation to visit EDANA’s office premises.

During the symposium, both sides had in-depth exchanges on the current situation and sustainable development of the China Europe non-woven fabric industry. Li Guimei introduced the development of China’s non-woven fabric industry from aspects such as production capacity, industry investment, application markets, international trade, sustainable development, and the future of the industry. Jacques Prigneaux shared an overview of the European non-woven fabric industry, including the overall performance of non-woven fabrics in Europe in 2023, production of various processes, production in different regions, application areas, and raw material consumption, as well as the import and export status of non-woven fabrics in Europe.

Li Guimei and Murat Dogru also conducted in-depth discussions on future cooperation. Both sides unanimously stated that in the future, they will cooperate in various forms, support each other, develop together, and achieve comprehensive and long-term strategic cooperation and win-win common goals. On this basis, both parties reached a consensus on their strategic cooperation intentions and signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement.

Li Lingshen stated in the symposium that EDANA and the Middle Class Association have always maintained a stable and friendly cooperative relationship, and have achieved cooperation results in some aspects. The signing of the strategic cooperation framework agreement between the Middle Class Association and EDANA will help promote in-depth cooperation between the two sides in industrial development, information exchange, standard certification, market expansion, exhibition forums, sustainable development, and other areas. He hopes that both sides will work together, unite with other major industry organizations around the world, and continue to promote the prosperity and development of the global nonwoven industry.

During their stay in Belgium, the delegation also visited the Belgian Textile Research Center (Centexbel) and NordiTube in Liege. Centexbel is an important textile research institution in Europe, with a focus on medical textiles, health care textiles, personal protective textiles, construction textiles, transportation textiles, packaging textiles, and composite materials. It focuses on sustainable development, circular economy, and advanced technology textile innovation, providing product research and testing services to enterprises, and is committed to the transformation and application of advanced technological achievements. The delegation and the head of the research center had an exchange on the operational mode of the research center.

NordiTube has a development history of over 100 years and has become an internationally leading provider of non excavation pipeline repair technology through continuous transformation and development. In 2022, Jiangsu Wuxing Technology Co., Ltd. in China acquired NordiTube. Changsha Yuehua, the director of Wuxing Technology, led a delegation to visit the production workshop and R&D testing center of NordiTube, introducing the development process of NordiTube. The two sides discussed issues such as overseas investment, international market expansion, engineering services, and advanced technology textile research and development.
