Yesterday, the production project of the world’s largest non-woven fabric enterprise – PG I Nanhai Nanxin Non woven Fabric Co., Ltd. – started construction at the Guangdong Medical Non woven Fabric Production Base in Jiujiang, Nanhai. The total investment of this project is about 80 million US dollars, and it will be constructed in two phases. Among them, the first phase covers an area of 50 acres, with an investment of 34 million US dollars, and is expected to be completed by the end of next year. After the project is put into operation, it will greatly promote the agglomeration effect of industries in Jiujiang, create emerging pillar industries, and optimize industrial layout. Jiujiang will also become the largest town level medical non-woven fabric production base in China.
PG I Nanhai Nanxin Company
PG I Nanhai Nanxin Company is the first enterprise established in Asia by PG I Group, a leading global non-woven fabric manufacturer, and is also a major taxpayer in Foshan with over ten million yuan. The company specializes in the production and operation of polypropylene (PP) spunbond non-woven fabric series products, and is currently the largest medical non-woven fabric manufacturer in China. Due to the need for factory expansion, the company has decided, after multiple considerations, to relocate two production lines located in other regions and the newly added high-capacity and high value-added production line to Jiujiang as a whole.
Guangdong Medical Non woven Fabric Production Base
The reason for introducing the base to Shatou is that Jiujiang Town has further clarified the regional positioning of “production gathering in Shatou”, and utilized the geographical advantages of Shatou to integrate and plan the Shatou Science and Technology Industrial Park as an industrial development area. Among them, the “Guangdong Province Medical Non woven Fabric Production Base” led by projects such as PG I and Bidefu has become one of the “three major bases” of Shatou Science and Technology Industrial Park.
This year, Jiujiang will continue to promote the three-year action plan of “Industrial Chain Investment Promotion”. On the basis of cultivating and strengthening local high-quality enterprises, it will implement the strategy of “supporting businesses with businesses”, actively introduce related leading enterprises to play the role of industrial clusters, and effectively extend the industrial chain. The PG I new project, which started construction yesterday, is located in the Guangdong Medical Non woven Fabric Production Base in Jiujiang Town. It is the second phase of the base’s construction project. The total planned area of the base is 750 acres, and the first phase of the base covers 300 acres. Currently, 5 non-woven fabric enterprises including Nanhai Bidefu Non woven Fabric Co., Ltd. in Foshan have been introduced, with a cumulative investment of about 660 million yuan. It has 9 world leading non-woven fabric production lines, with a production value of 480 million yuan and a tax revenue of 23 million yuan in 2012. At present, Bidefu is building two non-woven fabric production lines, covering an area of 12000 square meters with a total investment of 60 million yuan. It is expected to be completed and put into operation in August next year. After the completion and operation of the PG I Jiujiang project and the Beidefu new production line, Jiujiang will become the largest production base for town level medical non-woven fabrics in China.
Dr. Huang Lianghui, the Deputy Mayor of Science and Technology and an expert in the field of new non-woven fabric research who took office in Jiujiang Town in April this year, introduced that he has worked for many non-woven fabric enterprises in Jiujiang. He believes that the added value of traditional non-woven fabric products in Jiujiang is low, but if the industrial chain is extended to the medical non-woven fabric field, the added value of products will increase several times.
Jiujiang Metal Materials Market opens for business
Yesterday morning, the Jiujiang Metal Materials Market, covering an area of about 3000 acres, held its opening ceremony. This market relies on the advantages of port terminals and has launched a smart logistics project.
