Why does non-woven fabric have uneven thickness

Non woven fabric is a type of non-woven fabric that is formed by directly using polymers to cut into pieces, short fibers, or polyester fibers to lay chemical fibers on a mesh according to cyclones or mechanical equipment, and then reinforcing them through water jet, needle tying, or heat stamping structures, and post-processing to form a non-woven fabric. The main reason for uneven thickness of non-woven fabrics

Uneven mixing of low melting point fibers and basic chemical fibers:

Different types of chemical fibers have different adhesion forces. Generally speaking, low melting point fibers have a greater adhesion force than basic chemical fibers and are less prone to dispersion. For example, Japan 4080, South Korea 4080, South Asia 4080, or the Far East 4080 all have different adhesion forces. If the dispersion of low melting point fibers is uneven, a portion of the low melting point fibers with fewer components will not be able to produce sufficient mesh tissue, and non-woven fabrics will be thinner, Compared to areas with a higher content of low melting point fibers, there is a tendency for them to be thicker.

Incomplete melting of low melting point fibers:

The incomplete melting of low melting point fibers is mainly due to insufficient heat. For non-woven fabrics with relatively low base weight, it is generally not easy to cause the problem of insufficient environmental temperature. However, for products with high base weight and high thickness, attention should be paid to whether they are sufficient. The non-woven fabric located at the edge is generally thicker due to sufficient heat generation, while the non-woven fabric located in the middle part is prone to producing thinner non-woven fabric due to insufficient heat generation,

Whether it is basic chemical fibers or low melting point fibers, if the warm air shrinkage rate of the fibers is high, it is easy to cause uneven thickness during the production and manufacturing of non-woven fabrics due to folding problems.

Static electricity issues occur during the production and manufacturing period of non-woven fabrics

The root cause is the low moisture content in the air when chemical fibers and needle clothing come into contact, which can be divided into the following points:

(1) The weather is too dry and humid, with insufficient humidity in the environment.

(2) When there is no oil on the chemical fiber, there is no anti-static agent on the chemical fiber. Due to the moisture regain of polyester cotton being 0.3%, the lack of anti-static agents resulted in the generation of static electricity during the production and manufacturing period.

(3) Chemical fibers with slightly lower oil content and relatively fewer components of electrostatic induction agents can also produce electrostatic induction.

(4) Due to the special molecular formula of the degreaser, SILICONE polyester cotton is completely free of moisture on the degreaser, making it relatively easy to generate electrostatic induction during the production and manufacturing period. Generally, the smoothness of the touch is positively correlated with electrostatic induction, and the smoother the SILICONE cotton, the greater the electrostatic induction.

(5) The method to prevent static electricity, apart from humidification in the manufacturing process, can effectively remove all oil-free cotton during the cotton feeding process, which is an important task.
