Waterproof polypropylene non woven fabric is a commonly used material, and its waterproof performance has always been a concern for people. In practical applications, users can choose different waterproof treatment methods according to their specific needs to meet their needs.
Polypropylene non-woven fabric is also known as “wood fiber non-woven fabric” due to its non-woven production process being similar to that of wood fiberboard. Polypropylene non-woven fabric has the advantages of lightweight, water resistance, corrosion resistance, and good antibacterial properties, and is widely used in fields such as medicine, hygiene, home textiles, and construction.
Due to the fact that polypropylene non-woven fabric is produced through non-woven technology, its surface presents a relatively open yarn layer structure and is susceptible to moisture infiltration. Therefore, the waterproof performance of polypropylene non-woven fabric itself is poor.
However, in practical applications, in order to improve its waterproof performance, manufacturers usually add waterproofing agents and other materials to treat polypropylene non-woven fabrics. These additives can fill the pores in the yarn layer structure, forming a tight barrier and achieving good waterproof effect.
1. Add waterproofing agent. The commonly used waterproofing agents include zinc oxide, aluminum oxide, etc., which can be purchased through the plastic or chemical industries.
2. Change the fiber structure of non-woven fabric. The waterproof effect of non-woven fabric can be improved by changing its fiber structure. For example, using processes such as hot air molding to merge the fibers in polypropylene non-woven fabric into a whole can increase its strength and improve its waterproof performance.
3. Use composite materials. Combining non-woven fabric with other waterproof materials can also achieve better waterproof effects. For example, composite materials combined with polyurethane films can maintain the advantages of polypropylene non-woven fabrics while increasing their waterproof performance.
